Hey gang, it’ll be a short newsletter this month, I’ve been going through a really hard time nursing a broken heart.
My only offering to you today is this drawing I made to accompany the song I shared in June. Like the song, it came from within and somehow captures where I find myself and the healing I need to do.
It was destined to be tucked away in a sketchbook until my friend Guy asked me for a piece of art to decorate his new home this week.
So this little boy now has a place, looking quite handsome in a mounted frame.

If you are going through a dark time in your life, please reach out to the people who care about you: as counter-intuitive as it feels, grief is a wonderful invitation to be more connected and more loved, not less.

Suyin Du Bois has just published a fantastic poetry collection called Eating Air. It’s about connection and belonging when you’re from several different cultures, all wrapped up in the most exquisite poetry about food.
Jo Franco is self-producing and hosting a unique travel show about languages. It’s called Translated and the second episode is about Antwerp, a city Jo calls home and that is dear to my heart as well. Perfect wanderlust.
And Jack Conte’s new SXSW keynote is a full-throated love-infused manifesto on making art in the age of A.I. He’s angry about A.I., but also recognises its potential. His talk is so good!
